Tom Adams is Executive Director Finance & Business Services at Alcoa of Australia, responsible for the leadership, strategy and management of finance and business services supporting Alcoa World Alumina and other business units operating in Australia. As a director of the company, Tom also contributes to strategic decisions and policies formulated by the senior management of Alcoa World Alumina.
Tom has been with Alcoa of Australia since 1985. His previous positions with Alcoa included the role of Kwinana Refinery Manager, as well as holding positions as Financial Controller & Treasurer – Alcoa World Alumina Australia, Accounting Manager for Western Australian Operations and Pinjarra Refinery Commercial Manager. Prior to joining Alcoa Tom worked in chartered accountancy firms in New South Wales, Northern Territory and Perth.

Nicholas is an Associate Director at the World Economic Forum, where he has led a series of scenarios on the future of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, in partnership with the Economic Development Board of Bahrain, the Executive Affairs Authority of Abu Dhabi and Olayan Financing Company of Saudi Arabia. The World Economic Forum’s World Scenario Series also includes previously-published scenarios on: India, China, Russia, and Financing Demographic Shifts.
Prior to working with the Forum in Geneva, he was a Director at Oxford Investment Research in the United Kingdom, and worked as a commercial law solicitor in Sydney, Australia. Nicholas holds an MBA from the University of Oxford and a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Sydney.

Craig Jackson leads Ernst & Young's Risk Advisory Services practice (RAS) across Oceania. In this context, Craig is responsible for bringing together the diverse range of risk services provided by Ernst & Young to support clients in achieving their business goals. Craig has a strong relationship with many boards and audit committees in the Australian market place, and is currently a member of the Board of Partners of Ernst & Young.
Craig's industry experience has been gained from being the partner responsible for numerous companies in the manufacturing, retail and distribution sectors, energy and natural resources, engineering and construction areas. Craig has also had extensive involvement in a number of public floats, acquisitions, divestments, re-organisations and reconstructions involving companies in these sectors. Craig is former director and Chairman of the Audit Committee of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

MICHAEL LUTOMSKI

After commencing his NASA career in college as a cooperative education student in 1985 Mike Lutomski began working full time in 1988 as a Space Shuttle flight controller working in the Mission Control Center (MCC) on the Space Shuttle’s propulsion systems. Mike Lutomski lived in Moscow, Russia from 1996-1998 working in NASA’s International Space Station’s Moscow Office.
Currently Mike Lutomski is the Risk Manager for the International Space Station (ISS) Program. He is responsible for managing both a program wide qualitative risk management process and a quantitative risk analysis team to assist management in making sound risk-informed decisions. The qualitative or Continuous Risk Management (CRM) process for the ISS Program provides a systematic method for identifying, tracking, and controlling not only technical, but also cost, schedule, and safety risks that affect program goals and objectives.

JOHN MERKOVSKY
Marsh Risk Consulting

John Merkovsky serves as the Global Leader for Marsh's Risk Consulting Practice, overseeing and directing the daily operations and continuing growth of its core and specialty practices across the globe. He is responsible for Marsh's thought leadership activities around emerging risk issues such as climate change, pandemic, and supply chain, and helps coordinate Marsh's participation in the World Economic Forum's Global Risk Network.
John recently visited Australia as a keynote speaker at the Asia Pacific Economic Forum's Secure Trade Conference. He has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting and is a certified public accountant and certified fraud examiner.

ALASTAIR MILROY
Australian Crime Commission

Mr Milroy was appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Crime Commission (ACC) on 1 March 2003. His appointment followed the creation of the ACC in January 2003 - bringing together the Australian Bureau of Criminal Intelligence, the National Crime Authority (NCA) and the Office of Strategic Criminal Assessments. Mr Milroy has had a distinguished career in law enforcement, and crime and risk management, spanning 40 years. He served with the New South Wales (NSW) Police, the NCA, the Royal Commission into the NSW Building Industry, the Drug Enforcement Agency and the United Nations. |
BILL MITCHELL

Cr Bill Mitchell was appointed President of WALGA in August 2004 and Vice President of the Australian Local Government Association in November 2004. Cr Mitchell has been involved in Local Government for almost 30 years and is a member of the Local Government Self Insurance Schemes Board. He was elected to the Murchison Shire Council in 1976, where he is still a Councillor. |

Ms Selene joined Aon in 2004 and currently heads its HR Solutions and communications consulting practice. She has led the global development of Aon’s human capital risk assessment service. Ms Selene graduated with an honours degree in pure mathematics and statistics, with a major in psychology, and has completed an MBA with Distinction. Ms Selene has held senior strategic management consulting positions and has worked in senior communications and corporate affairs positions in the insurance and pharmaceutical sectors. |

An engineer by original training, Gareth also holds a PhD and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). |

MARK THIRWELL

Mark Thirwell is Progam Director-International Economy at the Lowy Institue for International Policy. He is a graduate from Cambridge University and has an MPhil. degree in economics from Oxford. Mark has a postgraduate qualification in applied finance at Macquarie University.
Mark began his career a a economist in the Bank of England's international division, where he focused on emerging market issues. Mark also spent time in the Bank's UK structural economic analysis division prior to joining JP Morgan as vice president in the economic research department with responsibility for Central and Eastern Europe.
Before joining the Lowy Institute , Mark was senior economist at the Australian Export Finance and Insurance Corporation from1999 to 2003 where he worked on country risk issues, with a particular emphasis on East Asia.
