RMIA President – WELCOME TO RMIA 2009!

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the Risk Management Institution of Australasia Limited (RMIA) 6TH Annual Conference, RMIA 2009.

In keeping with the long held RMIA tradition of including regional Australian cities on the Annual Conference Program to demonstrate the importance of risk management across the entire nation, we are delighted to host RMIA 2009 in Cairns, North Queensland, Australia.

Each November, the RMIA Annual Conference and Exhibition continues to be the focal point for gathering of risk management professionals in the Asia-Pacific Region, attracting delegates from all corners of the globe, creating an international forum for risk management education and learning that provides risk management practitioners with the opportunity to exchange ideas and network among world leading specialists.

Your participation in RMIA 2009 as a delegate, speaker, sponsoring partner or exhibitor will be an important contributor to a global forum for transfer of practical skills, knowledge and understanding from risk professionals and companies that have been able to achieve an extraordinary state of robustness at a time when many of their contemporaries continue to struggle and fight for survival within the context of the current global economic crisis.
